DNS records
Plonki hosts DNS for your domains unless you switch nameservers. Add, list and delete records through the API, the MCP tools or the dashboard.
shell
curl https://plonki.com.au/v1/domains/acmecoffee.com.au/dns \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $PLONKI_KEY" -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"name": "@", "type": "MX", "content": "smtp.google.com", "priority": 1}'name is the label: @ for the domain itself, www, _dmarc, and so on. Don't add the domain on the end.
Google Workspace email

Verifying the domain with a service
Google Search Console, Microsoft, Stripe, Resend and others give you a TXT record. Add it on @ (or the name they say):
json
{ "name": "@", "type": "TXT", "content": "google-site-verification=abc123" }DMARC
json
{ "name": "_dmarc", "type": "TXT", "content": "v=DMARC1; p=none; rua=mailto:dmarc@acmecoffee.com.au" }Limit who can issue certificates (CAA)
json
{ "name": "@", "type": "CAA", "content": "0 issue \"letsencrypt.org\"" }Rules
- Types: A, AAAA, CNAME, MX, TXT, SRV, CAA, NS. TTL 300 to 86400 seconds, default 3600.
- MX and SRV take
priority(default 10). - You can't add or remove NS records on the root; use nameservers instead.
- When the domain uses another provider's nameservers, edit DNS there; Plonki's DNS calls return
dns_not_hosted.
